Please take a moment to visit some of my friends, and some other organizations that are important to me:
Carla Zilbersmith was one of the most talented, most loving and certainly the bravest woman I have ever known. Donations in her memory can be made to the Forbes-Norris ALS clinic, or to any organization that is working to eradicate ALS Read her funny, poetic, heartbreaking blog at www.carlamuses.blogspot.com, Also, check out Oscar-winning director John Zaritsky's moving film based on Carla's blog, Leave Them Laughing.
My good friend Ruth Schwartz has published four books of gorgeous, sensual, spiritual poetry: Accordion Breathing and Dancing, Singular Bodies, Edgewater, and Dear Good Naked Morning, as well as a poignant memoir, Death in Reverse. Her web site is a gold mine of good poems, as well as links to other poetry-related sites.
Ellen is probably best known for her groundbreaking work with survivors of childhood sexual abuse. But she is also a kick-ass, funny and profound poet. The enduring nature of love, domestic, familial, and love for the planet, is one of her constant themes. Her recent books, Mules of Love and The Human Line are as nourishing as good bread.
